Questions And Answers

I want to answer a Question that I get almost Everyday. What’s the difference between Granite & Quartz?

Let’s begin with Granite. Granite is a Natural Stone cut from a Quarry in places like India, Brazil or Italy. Natural Stone is Very durable and gives you a vast of color selections, depending on what you’re looking for. The biggest misconception, is the maintenance of Granite. The Truth is, since it’s a natural stone, it can be porous. When a Granite in Indianapolis Countertop is installed, it is already sealed by the company that’s installing it. After that, you can apply a sealer, yourself, about once a year depending on the stone itself and your household wear & tear. Worst case scenario, would be a year and a half. We also provide that service if and when you need it sealed again. Also, there is not a heat issue with Granite, you can put something hot directly on it without worrying about hurting it.

Ok, let’s cover the durability of Quartz in Indianapolis.

Quartz is a manmade stone and is also Super Durable. Since it is manmade, there are a limited number of Color selections. With that said, if you’re looking for a White Countertop with Gray, Black or Brown veins throughout, you can definitely find that with Quartz Countertops. The one downfall to Quartz Countertops is that you cannot rest anything Hot on it because of the adhesives that are used in making it, It can either scar or burn it. Other than that, it’s an awesome, clean looking countertop. I have a Quartz in my own home and Love it.
And Good News, is that it never needs sealing since it is Manmade.

Here’s another common question we get all the Time. How do I know if my Granite Countertops Need Sealed?

There is one really easy way to check. Just take a little water and pour it on your Granite Countertops, then wait a couple of minutes. If a dark spot forms, you know that it’s definitely time to have it Resealed. You can wipe if off and it will dry out. If the water beads up like a newly waxed car, then you’re Good to Go. It’s that simple! You can add a Sealer yourself but The key is to clean it well before Sealing or your just Sealing in Water Deposits… We also offer that service if and when your ready. Here’s something a lot of people ask about? What’s More Expensive Granite or Quartz?

As a Rule of thumb Quartz Countertops in Indianapolis are usually more Expensive than Granite Countertops. With that said, there are some Granite Countertops that are more expensive that the lower end Quartz (Like Solid White Quartz) . Again, it really depends on the look your going for. If you’re a flipper than you’ll probably end up installing some lower end Quartz or Granite to meet your Budget. If you’re working on your Dream Home than you might spend a little more to find that Perfect Stone! Hope this Helps, If you have any questions, Please Feel Free to Reach out at 317.800-5100

Here’s a Question People Worry About Everyday! Does my Quartz Stain and how do I clean it if I see a spot?

Because Quartz Countertops is a Manmade Stone it is not a Porus Product like Granite Countertops or Natural Quartzites. For the most part you can say it won’t stain but there are Circumstances where something can stain your Quartz Countertops, Like a Red Wine left over night on the Countertop. The Good News is that there is a Stain Remover that I found that does a Great Job. I had a small spot I thought that stained my Quartz but after spraying this Product on and let sit for 5 Minutes, it wiped Perfectly Clean!!Thank God for Cleaners, Shoot me a Message and I will share my Secret Product! 317.800.5100

Can I get a Quote just off My Measurements, And What does the New Countertop process look like?

Yes, We can usually use a free hand drawing measurement to get things started. Just measure length by width (which is usually 25 ½” inches) for standard cabinets allowing for a 1 ½” overhang in the front. Also mark where the Stove, Sink and Refrigerator will be so we can get an understanding of your Kitchen layout. Pics are always helpful as well. And of Course, we can swing by and take a measurement for you at ‘No Charge to you’. Once we have the drawing, the next Step is to Pick out Your Stone.
